Ask the Bitches. How do I wear this skirt?

Dear Bitches -

I just bought this amazing Lime Green Skirt, but I’m worried I won’t ever wear it because it’s so bright. Help!

**The Prissy Bitches Rub their hands together with glee and prepare for an INTERNET SHOPPING SPREE**

THIS is the fierce skirt in question:

So, dear Eli and I spent DAYS SCOURING THE INTERWEBZ for the perfect looks for such a PERFECT spring skirt. We wanted to keep the fun of the skirt as the focal point, so we chose three different looks that emphasize, but don’t overwhelm, the gorgeous limey piece.

And here they are! The Prissy Bitches’ Three Takes on One Fabulous Piece:

We went for a playful take on a classic look with this one. The tuxedo jacket adds a formal flair that is kept all the way down to the adorable platforms. The black tights, classic top, and great necklace all tone it down and keep it appropriate for daytime.

Get the look. 1.) Tuxedo Jacket from Anthropologie. 2.) Braided Necklace from Forever 21. 3.) Essie Sew Psyched Pewter Nail Polish 4.) Two Tone T-Straps from UrbanOg. 5.) Forenza Henley Tank from The Limited.  6.) Betsy Johnson Stem Drop Earrings.

We love a good excuse to rock fierce pumps and a motorcycle jacket! Whether you’re going out with the girls, or out with your main man, this is a look that will work at a nice restaurant or a funky bar. The monotone feel of the top and the skirt adds a gorgeous springy backdrop for fun jewelry that pops.

Get the look. 1) Motorcycle Jacket from H&M. 2.) Essie Mint Candy Apple Polish. 3.) Green floral top from Zara. 4.) Beaded Necklace and Stacked Bracelets from Forever 21. 5.) Kelsi Dagger Laurie Pump from DSW. 6.) Come on, ladies. It’s important to match your cocktail to your ensemble. ;)

For our last look we wanted the ultimate fun and comfy casual look for schlepping around on weekends, running errands, going to the movies or to the park. Wherever you go, you’ll feel fresh and fun in this playful take.

Get the Look. 1.) Lace Striped Oversized Tank from Forever 21. 2.) Green Ceramic Flower Necklace from Etsy Seller BlackDaisyDesigns. 3.) Stacked Lime and Gold Bangles from Nordstrom. 4.) Essie Tour de Finance Polish. 5.) Catalena Sandals by Steve Madden.

There you have it, Miss Booney! What do you guys think of our three looks? Which is your favorite?

Gotta run now, all of this shopping has me NEEDING a lime green skirt of my very own. And maybe a margarita…or two.

Ask the Bitches! Colored Skinnies.

As one of our many exciting blog features here at PB, we have started Ask the Bitches! If you have a question or need fashion tips about anything under the Prissy Bitches Sun, click on that little button over on the sidebar and we will help you out!

Our first question comes from Kelsey in Dallas.

What are some brands/cuts/fabrics/styles of skinnies (but not “can’t-get-past-your-knee-cap-skinnies”) that come in ALL THE COLORS? I’m desperate for colored pants, and I really want a good skinny cut, but can’t every find that one store that will have the style that fits my considerable backside. Thanks PBs!

Boy, when a trend is hot – it is HOT. This is our third post about Colored Skinnies this week! Here is what you need to know BEFORE shopping for this trend:

KNOW your length: If you’re pairing them with heels, you will want them to rest about an inch past where the top of the heel hits. This way you can either wear them long over some great platforms (a la Eli in her fabu blues here), or you can cuff a few inches above your ankles to wear with heels for a super mod springy look. If flats are your route, have them end just at the top of where the flats would hit the back of your ankle. If they’re too long, you’ll look stunted and unkept. You can also pair the rolled/cuffed look with flats for a super nautical, summery vibe. THERE ARE SO MANY WAYS TO WEAR THESE JEANS!

Don’t be AFRAID of the color. Colored jeans are a new neutral. Pair them with leopard pumps for a pin-up feel, or a striped shirt for a summery look. Floral cardis make them seem vintage, and graphic tees make them punk rock. DO NOT BE AFRAID of mixing them with patterns and graphics. The louder the outfit, the more fun you’ll have!

Skinny jeans run SMALL. Read all about this tidbit in Eli’s post here.

Skinny jeans can STRETCH OUT. When you try them on at the store, make sure they fit tight, but not so tight that there is any pulling or muffin toppage. The spandex and/or lycra in these jeans will mold to your body and they will stretch out over time. When you wash them they will snap back. If your jeans are even the least bit loose when you buy them, they’ll be falling off of you later that day. I promise. :)

Okay. Now the BIG question. WHERE CAN WE GET SOME OF OUR VERY OWN? Prissy Bitches is not affiliated nor paid by any of these stores. We just REALLY like to shop.

On a budget:
Target has several colors on sale right now for $22.99!! They fit well and are long enough even for my 5’9 frame! Note: they run SMALL. Expect to go up two sizes from what you’re used to. Check ‘em out here:

Not necessarily on a budget, but don’t want to spend a LOT.
American Eagle has both Jegging Style and Skinny Style in several colors. Price: $44.50. Check them out here:

I only wear designer jeans.
